Welcome to McAllen Medical Center

McAllen Medical Center is a 441-bed hospital that is the only designated advanced Level III Trauma Center for Hidalgo County, and its NICU remains the region's only neonatal surgical center. The hospital is a certified Primary Stroke Center, works with the federal Veterans Administration to provide services to area veterans, and has a family medicine residency program. Services provided at the hospital include advanced wound care, maternity care, neurosurgery and orthopedics.

ER Reserve

ER Reserve lets you request a time to be seen in the Emergency Department when you need care for less serious and non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries.


Our neurologists perform surgical treatment of the brain, spine, peripheral nerves and arteries of the neck.

Orthopedic Surgery

Our department offers surgical and non-surgical treatments of bones and joints, including hips, knees, hands and feet.
